Aniplex of America Inc. (a subsidiary of Sony Music Japan) is seeking a Junior Web Designer to join the Web team located in Santa Monica, CA. A Junior Web Designer works with internal teams such as our marketing and production teams to create and update new websites and applications. As a Junior Web Designer you will work under the supervision of the manager and leads/senior developers in your department, but you may be involved in all stages of a project, from brainstorming to final launching. While working projects, will work in accordance with company protocols, Sony group policies, and user needs. The ideal candidate must be bilingual speaker (English and Japanese) and have strong skills in reading, writing and communication, as there will be frequent interaction with the web team at the Japanese headquarters.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Under the supervision of the department manager and department leads, the Jr. Web Designer will perform the following duties:
- Developing websites using basic web design and web coding knowledge
- Update and edit website content, posts, pages, and sometimes creating a new website
- Assist with graphic design work such as creating web banners and web assets
- Assist in troubleshooting issues on web-based systems
- Provide technical support related to web-based systems to internal teams.
- Any additional tasks as required by the department manager
QUALIFICATIONS FOR POSITION
- Must be eligible to work unrestricted in the USA
- Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Communication Design or a related field.
- A minimum of 1 year of website creation experience
- Write custom HTML, CSS and JavaScript for existing websites and applications
- In-depth knowledge of languages such as HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, JQuery, and JSON
- Proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud such as design software including Photoshop, Illustrator
- Be able to work under pressure of heavy workloads and tight deadlines
- Be self-motivated, self-starter, confident, energetic, and creative
